The College of Saint Rose in Albany, N.Y., today announced that 812 students have been named to the Dean's List for the spring 2013 semester. Full-time students who complete a minimum of 12 credit hours and achieve a semester grade-point average of at least 3.5 with no grades of D, F, Incomplete or Pass/Fail are eligible for inclusion on the Dean's List.

Hofstra University Recognizes Spring 2013 Provost's List Students
More than 200 students achieved perfect 4.0 grade point averages in the Spring 2013 semester, earning them a spot on Hofstra University's Provost's List. A student must complete at least 12 semester hours with 'A' grades to qualify. Hofstra University Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs Herman Berliner applauds these students' impressive success, and recognizes that past achievement is an excellent predictor of continued success in the future.

SUNY Canton Recognizes Area President's List Students
Area students were recently named to the President's List for outstanding academic achievement during the spring 2013 semester at SUNY Canton.
"Congratulations to our President's List students for the Spring Term 2013! The Provost, deans, faculty and I are very proud of the way you applied your best efforts to the semester's coursework," said SUNY Canton Acting President Joseph C. Hoffman. "The work ethic and the enthusiasm for learning you develop here at the College will serve you well in your professional careers after graduation."
To receive President's List honors, full-time students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

The State University of New York at Potsdam Honors Bachelor's and Master's Graduates
The State University of New York at Potsdam awarded nearly 900 undergraduate and graduate degrees during its 2013 Commencement ceremonies on May 18 and 19. SUNY Potsdam honored about 750 students who earned baccalaureate degrees, while another 140 graduate students earned their master's at the College's Commencement weekend. Local Residents Earn Graduate Degrees at The University of Scranton
The University of Scranton conferred 65 doctoral degrees in physical therapy and 748 master's degrees at its commencement on May 25 on campus. Graduates of the Jesuit university represented 38 states, including Alaska, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas and Virginia. Programs with the most graduates at Scranton were educational administration, curriculum and instruction, MBA, occupational therapy and physical therapy.
Austin Burke, president of the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, served as the principal speaker. A leader in community development for four decades, Burke has served as the chamber's president since 1981. He served in Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell's cabinet as secretary for community and economic development.
"Graduates, the master's degree you earned today will help you to prepare for a lifetime of surprises," said Burke. "You will encounter challenges and frustrations, as well as moments of pure euphoria. My hope is that your euphoria will be intense and richly satisfying; that your euphoria will be the result of endeavors which benefit our children and grandchildren."
University of Scranton President Kevin P. Quinn, S.J., also addressed the graduates and their guests.
Degrees were conferred by Father Quinn to candidates presented by W. Jeffrey Welsh, Ph.D., dean of the College of Graduate and Continuing Education.

SUNY New Paltz to celebrate Graduate Commencement
The State University of New York at New Paltz will hold the May 2013 Graduate Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 17 at 6 p.m. on the Old Main Quadrangle. This year, there are 721 graduate degrees being conferred. There will be more than 260 graduate candidates participating in the ceremony and celebrating their achievements in the presence of their family and friends.
The ceremony will recognize two cohorts of students: August and December 2012 and May and August 2013 candidates.

SUNY Canton Students Recognized at Honors Convocation
Students who excelled academically were honored at SUNY Canton's 2013 Honors Convocation.

The College's Honors Convocation is an annual, formal ceremony designed to recognize students' academic, civic and overall achievement. Each year, the ceremony is named after the most dedicated and revered faculty members of the College's history. This year's ceremony was named for SUNY Canton Distinguished Professor Emerita Nancy R. Auster, who taught for more than 25 years.
